Great Evening and Singing

Our doorbell rang this morning and it was our neighbour's two boys that Nic went 'trick and treating' with yesterday (aged 6 and 8 years old) asking if she would like to go cycling round the village.

Two hours later they got back - happily tired. It is a good life out here for kids. Safe, friendly and fun.

This afternoon the doorbell rang again. Would Nic like to go cycling again? Of course! She always has so much energy!!

A little while later they arrived back to ask if she could go just outside the village with them, where the boys cycle down a steep bank. We said no since it was too near the main road. OK they all said, no problem. They were just as happy cycling round the village for another two hours!

We have had a great evening. Our friends Riet and Albert came round for dinner. Lots of food and alcohol, and wide ranging conversation. Feeling a bit drunk now at two in the morning - thank goodness there is a spell checker on this!
Richard and Nic went to bed, whilst LeeLee and I sat up listening, and singing along to, the Bryan Adams CD 'The Best of Me'. It contains the song 'Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?' with some of the best ever lyrics :

Hear every thought,
See every dream,
And give her wings when she wants to fly.

And when you see your unborn children in her eyes ...
You know you really love a woman.

I do like candles in the evening, but they are a bummer to try and photograph!

Not many spaniels get to lick the gravy off a Crown Derby bone china plate!!
